Playful techniques and my dream coffee brand!
I wanted to to try some procedural camera transitions and hand drawn HDRIs, which I didn't have a chance to try in a professional setting because honestly the terms sound a bit techy and hard to pitch without an example. So here it is!
Blue Hour is a personal showcase project, so it's a bit blue and niche looking, inspired by a cup coffee on a window and the early morning light. This coffee would be perfect for me, and many other creatives that like to take a moment and think in those blue hours that are neigher day and no longer a night, at least I would buy it for sure :D

When I'm designing, I actually almost always make a lot of sketches on paper first, with a to do list right next to it. Love the oldschool feeling of it. After sketching, I designed the packaging design, looked for some cool fonts and added a tiny crescent moon into the logo for my play pretend roastery. Then I went on to build the packaging in blender and created a magical reveal with some tiny hand drawn stars. My goal was drawing the textures "without cheating" by hand, for a messier and artistic look.
I found a very nice HDRI and hand drawn the hidden blue world on top of the photo. Ended up with five versions which I've mixed to achieve the effect, but you can only see three of them in the video.
My favourite part was creating the procedural environment transformation, which would be a bit boring to explain (but it's basically all about tweaking the "forbidden settings" in the World nodes) and of course mixing some environment versions.
Next time I'll share some other idea for a coffee from my Nocturne Roastery, because I want to explore this technique a bit more and try a different aestethic! Anyway, loved how this turned out. ♥
